Nerdgasim report..I mean Blizzcon 2009

So this past Friday and Saturday I had the pleasure, nerdgasmic pleasure, of attending Blizzcon 2009 in Anaheim, CA. Here is what I have to say about it…

We arrived Thursday night and met up with some of my east coast friends. There was great food and alcohol consumption which of course brought out the the pwnage talks and “sharing” amongst other jokes that included whales and cups. I am pretty sure that the restaurant patrons and staff were glad at 9:00pm when we finally left and stumbled over to the convention center to pick up our tickets. Ok maybe we didn’t stumble but then again I don’t have to be drunk to miss a step or few, ah the art of being one of the clumsiest individuals on earth. The registration and check in process was a lot smoother this year and even though we went to get our tickets way after the thousands that went at 4pm, I could tell they were set up very well this year to handle the lines.

So after we received our badges and the flimsy cords they gave us to attach them to, which by the way were not that secure around your neck, we headed over to obtain (huge exhale of excitement) our swag bags. Granted they did provided us with a limited edition “noobz” doll we were all still sadly disappointed about everything else in the bags or how do I say…the lack there of. I know I sound greedy, but the swag bags were way better last year. But hey we still got a limited edition doll so I am not complaining too much and not to mention our in game pet!

Ok I know…get to the interesting stuff already. So here it is…

Worgen Available classes:

DK, priest, druid, rogue, warlock, hunter, mage and warrior..sorry no pallies or shamans!

I tried out both new races and have to say personally the worgen look bad ass but the goblins seem way more fun!

Warlocks in general are getting revamped and I will discuss this in another post. There will also be more dungeons and raids but I will put that in another post as well.

Moving on..
Starcraft II..being pushed back for a 2010 release date..We weren’t given the actual date.

Diablo III…don’t hold your breath on that release date because you will pass out and die. However they did unveil another new class..the Monk and yes I played it or demo’d rather.

I still really like the wizard. I mean you shoot lightning bolts from your fingertips what’s not to like!?!

Then you have the lovely costume, dance and sound alike contests. I can tell you this if I don’t hear another attempt at sounding just like an orc peon in warcraft 3 it won’t ruin my day. The costume and dance contest are always fun. However, there was an unofficial theme it seemed this year of men doing in game women dances.
The lines were not bad at all this year; Blizzard was extremely more prepared you could tell. Even the Jinx line was tolerable. I think the longest lines I stood in were to get beer or food.

Of course we were treated to a performance by the Level 80 Elite Tauren Cheiftan band which rocked the house. And last but not least and surely not out done…the final closing act was none other than the original Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne. He played an awesome set and much rocking out was done!
I have more information and tid bits but I still haven’t unpacked and I am extremely sleepy so you will just have to check out the pics and links provided! Soon as I process the pics in my camera I will share those as well.

For Real Girl Gamer signing off…have a good night nerds =P I know I will.

P.S. my cat is trying to eat my newly acquired talking murloc's face…I must go save it…

  1. It's amazing how foreign some of this stuff has gotten to me, but it does sound like you had a hell of a time! Your little in game pet is SO cute. I want one to take to work with me. He could, like, staple and stamp and stuff. Ha! Diablo sounds awesome... I used to LOVE that game.

    Love you, chica. xoxoxo
